So, if you have wondered about my brief hiatus from blogging, I blame my iPad. I love this this thing. It is such a great tool. And playing with it, I have come to realize that it is partiuclarly a great tool for the home cook. Here is a run down of some of my favorite apps. This will likely become a regular thing for me, so if you have an iPad or iPhone be sure to subscribe for more! And as with my first pick it is available for many systems.

EVERNOTE

Available for just about every system from PC, Mac, iPad, iPhone, android, and more.

Think of this as the new bullitan board. You can write a note on your PC, clip some images from the web, grab a recipe, and all those things are available on all your systems. This is great for recipes. I can pull one up on my phone while at the store to make sure I get all the ingredients I need, then I can look at the recipe on my iPad while cooking. It is aslo a great place to share recipes since you can make folders public.

NewsRack

Newsrack is a blog reader. Very easy to use and manage. Perfect for the dozens of blogs that I follow. It is so nice to have all the info one place. It has helped me keep up on all my very favorite blogs. A great tool for reading and sharing your favorite food related blogs.

Another reader I am really enjoying is Flipboard. It is still a little rought, but this reader comes populated with different streams. I added the FlipEats stream. Now I have an electronic magazine of sorts from various sources around the web. It is image rich and visually stimulating. I have found a lot of inspiration from the images, some with headlines I would normally not be inclined to read through.

Recipes

There are lots of great recipe apps as well. Epicurious, Betty Crocker, and Women’s day are just a few that I go to regularly.
